I’ve gotten used to programmable tuner like a lot of us so really the only two options that I found worthy are the new Petersen HD and the Sonic Research Turbo Tuner. It seemed to me to be a good time to consider a new tuner.

Petersen offered a fix for about $50 plus shipping each way. I bought a Petersen Flip tuner used from a forum member about 5 years ago and it served me well until about 4 months ago when it started to eat batteries in less than 1 hour of use.
